Excellent Value, Pleasant atmosphere

I have stayed in several hostels in Scotland which are part of the same group as this one, Pitlochry Backpackers. They were all great value, and this one was the same. At £15 a night, I was pleasantly surprised at just how homely and welcoming this accommodation was. There was a large lounge with a pool table, dining table, plus tea and coffee making facilities, as well as some music playing in the background – an excellent selection of great tunes. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, and the atmosphere was very nice. My sleeping quarters were clean and comfortable, with a toilet just next door, which was handy. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit and will definitely return here in the future, since I consider it to be excellent value for money.

Amazing place to stay, the staff is incredibly nice, helping us with the trip and giving us a bunch of advices on where to go to. All the spaces were really clean, great breakfast and the common areas were amazing, equipped with a pool and fun toys for the kids, adding a movie room. The atmosphere was friendly and we were able to meet really interesting people.

Beautiful small hostel, with friendly staff, nice rooms, and free tea and hot chocolate! You can use the dishes in the kitchen, kettle and cook for yourself. You can buy a breakfast in the morning for pennies. They make very nice scones. It’s an excellent place to stay for a night or two if you want to visit Pitlochry. BTW The Spanish guy from Barcelona who worked at the reception (I think his name was Tony) went an extra mile whenever we needed anything. He should get a bonus!

The hostel is in an ideal location on the High Street. The staff are fantastic and friendly. Everyone is made to feel welcome. It feels like a good hostel should: warm, friendly, clean and welcoming. Go there and enjoy!

The room was very comfortable with an ensuite bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. The lounge/dining area was also very nice. Overall a great place to stay on a budget whilst exploring the local area. (August 2015, Alan M).

“Great building! Great staff! Great town!”

Super friendly staff and our room was great, ensuite! The building is awesome looking inside as well. Breakfast, parking lot, pool table, cute town, great area. We really enjoyed our stay here and I would come back to this town in a heart beat and wouldn’t stay anywhere else!  (June 2015, Nikki R, )

“A gem of a place in Pitlochry”
Stayed by myself for a few days while walking and exploring. Super hostel. A properly excellent place to stay. Bright, clean, comfortable, cosy and with great facilities and staff. I shall return again!

This is one of the best hostels we have stayed in since traveling Europe for the past 3 months! The staff is fantastic- very friendly and pointed us in the right direction for all the best foot trails, restaurants, and activities. The hostel was very clean with nice showers and toilets. The hostel is very close to the train station and right in the center of town, which made exploring very easy. The kitchen was well stocked with new equipment and cooking necessities. They even have a TV room with a plethora of movies. The atmosphere of the hostel was full of energy, but still a great place to come with family. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Pitlochry or just passing through!

“We spent a couple of nights here and couldn’t recommend it enough – the manager, Ryan, was so helpful and nothing was too much of a bother. The hostel itself is huge with great communal areas and different rooms to hang out in – we were really impressed at how clean the place was too. The hostel is half thru a re-furb and the room we stayed in had been freshly painted with new duvet and pillows – looking forward to going back next year to see it all finished. There is free tea/ coffee and wifi which was a bonus and there is also a car park behind the hostel. The location is spot on too – right on the high street, 2 min from the rail station with plenty of pubs and cafes to visit. We really enjoyed our time here – having stayed in a few hostels in my time, this place gets a definite 2 thumbs up.”

“We stumbled across this hostel by accident while staying at another hotel in pitlochry, and decided to book a stay here. Given that it was a hostel we weren’t expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised!!, we booked a double room (which had an en suite bathroom) for 50 pound. The room was fairly large and immaculately clean. We came through to attend the comedy night at the neighbouring mckays bar, and the staff could not have been more friendly :). We have stayed here several times now and love it!! we have had the chance to meet so many different kinds of people (hostels are great for this) and we love the common room here too. ohh one last thing breakfast is provided (2 pound per person) and is well worth it 🙂 (especially if you had a rough night the night before !!!!

“Stayed Saturday and Sunday night for accommodation to visit the Enchanted Forest at Pitlochry. A lovely clean hotel with friendly staff. We stayed in the double room, which was also en suite. Room and en suite facilities (shower, WC and basin) were spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and the stay overall was great. Thank you.

Great welcome from the staff probably one of the best i have ever received anywhere on my travels!:) The hostel is great with lovely rooms and the standard of cleanliness puts many other hostels to shame.
